Rain and more rain

Friday 17th April
I've been a bit busy this week, but on Wednesday I managed to get the rest of the 2nd early potatoes in. I also planted the rest of the onions - about 80 in all - think I'm going to have too many onions!
There's been a lot of rain this week, so it's been great growing weather. I noticed a slight haze of green where I'd planted the grass seed last week. It's just 8 days since I planted it. I've been picking the asparagus every two days, as it's growing thick and fast now. I even tried apsaragus soup with spinach which was lovely. I did a bit of weeding today, as the soil is very moist. Weeded the strawberry patch and in between the onions, garlic and shallots. It looks like somebody cares now. On the way home I stopped in at Jenny and John's plot, as they had said there might be some purple sprouting broccoli to pick. There was! I wasn't sure how to pick it, so Sarah from next door showed me. I picked enough for dinner. Delicious.
