The sweet pea cages are ready! Peter has been busy making them at home using wood from the pallets and some heavy duty netting. So I went off this afternoon to plant the sweet peas. Unfortunately, just as I set off the weather took a turn for the worst. Proper miserable it is - heavy drizzle but at least it's not cold. I got them all planted and then proudly protected them from the rabbits with the new cages. I hope the slugs have all gone to sleep as I forgot to put down slug pellets. I put a membrane (well actually just a plastic sack with holes in) into the botttom of the raised bed and emptied some of the ericaceous compost into it, ready for the blueberry plants. Tried to do a bit more weeding but the soil is much too wet. Time to go home for a cuppa.
