Wow! It's hot!

Wednesday 18th March
Wall to wall blue sky all day today. It must have been 15 degrees. The daffodils are blooming and I'm down on the plot without a care in the world. Bernie stopped by to give me a small fence post he'd managed to persuade the man over the road to part with. It may do for the other gate post, but if not, It'll be good for the extra compost bin. He had a wander round with me and advised me that the old fruit bushes were too close together. He suggested I get my potatoes and onions in soon.
While I was hoeing the long border, Sarah popped in for a chat. She must have noticed the flag. She liked the bath tub and said that rather than taking the taps off, I should make it a feature and add a soap dish! I still need to fill in the area around the bath, but don't know where to get soil from. Bernie said as a start I'd be OK to fill it with leylandii shreddings - I can get lots of those. Sarah also liked the cold frame and asked where we'd got the glass from. Ah well, that would be telling.
I dug over quite a large area in the potato patch, and managed to pull most of the weeds out this time. I'm looking forward to planting my first potatoes.
