Wednesday 25th March
Yesterday we took four large loads of leylandii chippings from the tennis club down to the plot to fill up the 'hole'. We spread them around theee bath tub, so we can eventually make it into a feature and encourage newts and frogs. Bernie came in and dumped some of his surplus soil on top of the chippings. There's still a lot of soil needed to fill up the hole.

I went down early this morning and did an hour's digging and weeding. It's heavy work despite the rain yesterday, so an hour was long enough. The wind was so strong, I had to take down the flag in case it blew away! The wooden pole was bending so much I had visions of chasing off across the allotments after it! I met George on the way round with some Michaelmas daisies for me. He said they'll be OK for a couple of days.
